Geometry is really a lovely
form of music.  These lines are:
convergent
divergent
parallel
perpendicular
all of the above
                                    p  a  r  a  b  o  l  a
                                  is a particular favorite
surpassed in its delicious harmonies polyphonies
    only by the almighty strains
                       of

                Hypotenuse           which I think I have spelled
                                                                        incorrectly
                                                                (it shames me to say)confess
                                      Hypoteneuse maybe?

even the shapes are a lot of fun
  they take up the whole mouth
                 “equilateral triangle”
        forces the tongue into a sort of
                      Perfect posture
           like finishing school for the
                 oral debutante.

think of theorems
the poetic nature of writing proofs
   it’s a sort of breathtaking dance
  whose end we will recognize immediately
                                when we see it.
I am jealous of the mathematician
      he has all of the best words            (factorial)!
             except hyperbole.
